The Backbone!

an email I recieved from my sis! Makes a lot of sense!

NOW - This is a President!!!

America , Canada , all Europe ....... needs a President like this. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd Australia Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this... but, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life,

I highly encourage you take
advantage of one other great Australian freedom:

'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' 'If you aren't happy here, then LEAVE. We didn't
force you to come here. You asked to be here. So, accept the country YOU accepted.'
----- Maybe if we circulate this, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

If you agree, please SEND THIS ON!

Coins for Children

Everyone is passionate about something..... And it's good that everyone has a different passion and goal in life or we would be boringly the same! A few weeks ago at church our service was about Children who are being trafficked around the world for drug & sex slaves. Immediately I knew that I was going to do SOMETHING to help! A lot of times, people think, oh this wouldn't happen to me or my child. But the truth of the matter is it can happen to ANYONE! Here are some of the facts :

300,000 children in the U.S. are at risk every year for commercial sexual exploitation. -U.S. Department of Justice

Investigators and researchers estimate the average predator in the U.S. can make more than $200,000 a year off one young girl. – NBC Report by Teri Williams

600,000 – 800,000 people are bought and sold across international borders each year; 50% are children, most are female. The majority of these victims are forced into the commercial sex trade. – U.S. Department of State, 2004, Trafficking in Persons Report, Washington, D.C.

If you are passionate about children, then maybe you would consider giving to the fund that helps Rescue the victims of this horrible act and put away the men who do it!

5 Love Languages

Most people do not know this, but there are 5 different love languages. 5 different ways that we feel loved and love others. One of these is YOUR love language! It is up to you to figure out which one that is. This applies to single, married, children, teens and adults, we all love and are loved.

Love Language #1
Words of Affirmation

Verbal compliments or words of appreciation are powerful communicators of love. They are best expressed in simple statements of affirmation such as: "you look sharp in that suit" or "Do you ever look nice in that dress. Wow!" Encouragement requires empathy and seeing the world from your spouse's perspective. We must first learn what is important to our spouse.

Love Language #2
Quality Time

A central aspect of quality time is togetherness. Two poeple sitting in the same room are in close proximity, but they are not necessarily together. Togetherness has to do with focused attention. Quality time does not mean that we have to spend our together moments gazing into each others eyes. It means we are doing something together and we are giving our full attention to the other person.

Love Language #3
Recieving Gifts

Gifts are visual symbols of love. Most wedding ceremonies include the giving and receiving of rings. The person performing the ceremony says, "These rings are outward and visible signs of an inward and spiritual bond that unites your two hearts in love that has no end." That is not meaningless rhetoric. It is verbalizing a significant truth-symbols have emotional value. These gifts are not the normal birthday, anniversary, expected gifts.

Love Language #4
Acts of Service

Such actions as cooking a meal, setting a table, washing dishes, vacuuming, removing the white spots from the mirror, getting bugs off the windshield, taking out the garbage, changing the baby's diaper, painting a bedroom, dusting the bookcase, keeping the car in operating condition, cleaning the garage, mowing the grass, trimming the shrubs, raking the yard, walking the dog, adn changing the cat's litter box are all acts of service. They require thought, planning, time, effort, and energy. If done with positive spirit, they are indeed expressions of love. If the person who feels loved by this language has to ask you to do these things, its pointless, you must do them on your own, willingly.

Love Language #5
Physical Touch

Physical touch is also powerful vehicle for communicating marital love. Holding hands, kissing, embracing, and sexual intercourse are all ways of communicating emotional love to one's spouse. For some individuals, physical touch is their primary love language. Without it, they feel unloved. With it, their emotional tank is filled, and they are secure in the love of their spouse.

All of the above information can be found in the book "The Five Love Languages" by Gary D. Chapman Ph.D
There are quizes to take to find out what you and your spouses love language is.

Weekend Get-a-Way!

So this past weekend we went with the military on a Marriage retreat to Canaan Valley , West Virgina. There were 5 commercial busloads of us! The trip up there was supoosed to be 8 hours but turned into 16 due to the snow blizzard in West Va we ran into. Sleeping on a bus is not fun or easy, but we did a lot of it! The ride up to the top of the mountain to our final destination was kinda scarey! We finally made it though and was so happy to be there!

We went tubing on saturday, it was really fun and really cold! We also attended two classes about the 5 love languages. This is a book i recommend everyone read. "The 5 love languages" by Chapman & Campbell. Learning how to love is important because each person needs a different kind of love! I will blog in more detail about the 5 love languages!

We finally made it home last night around 11 p.m. Exhausted!

Prayer & Forgivness

So I have been thinking about blogging about Prayer & Forgiveness. Two essential things in my life and hopefully yours! But the important thing is, knowing HOW to Pray and How to forgive. I do not want anyone to think I am a know it all. Because I am far from it. But I do feel like it is my duty to inform you of what I do know. So here goes.

I had the privelage to watch a movie tonight, Tyler Perry's "I can do bad all by myself". It was a great movie. The part where the young girl was asking Maddea how to pray really made sense. Grandma always says pray about it, but she never taught her how to pray! This is the case with many people! Including one of my great friends I was talking to the other day.

So here are some things I have learned about prayer.

1) You must ask for FORGIVENESS~
You must ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins so that you can pray to him. You must also ask those who you have sinned against to forgive you and forgive those who have sinned against you. In other words. Hold No Grudges!

2) Be Thankful & Give praise! Look around. If you are reading this, then you must have some access to internet. Be thankful for things God has blessed you with and the family members and friends that you have!

3) When you ask for something BE Specific! For example: Bob needs a car to get back and forth to work to take care of his family. He prays every night, please God send me a car. He may be blessed with a brand new car he can't afford, or even blessed with a broke down car that don't work. So be specific. "Please God send me a dependable car that will get me back and forth to work and that I can afford".

4) The Best thing to do is Ask for GOD's WILL in your life! He created each of us with a plan and a purpose. Only He know's what is to happen next in our life. Each min, day, week, month, year and so on. Live one day at a time, but live it for God. If we pray and ask HIS WILL in our life. Where can we go wrong? Nobody ever said it would be EASY!

5)Be easy, just talk like Jesus is your Best friend. Because he is, He will be there when no one else is.

When you end your prayer, I always say "In Jesus name I pray" , like maddea says, it's my stamp to get it up there!

Below is a visual demonstration on Forgivness
~When you don't forgive, the grudge and unforgiveness (the line) blocks the way of your blessings!
~When you forgive your blessings flow down!

This is so true and so powerful!

Passion 4 Photography

So yes. I have finally found the thing I love to do! Photography! I know it seems like the "in" thing now days but I can honestly say i have owned my own camera since i was 12 and loved to use it! It was one of those that used film and you had to wind it into place. No LCD view finder or playback photos.

Now I am using my very first DSLR Nikon D40. It's my first DSLR camera and I do enjoy the many features it comes with! However, I look forward to an even better camera for even better photos!

My true desire to become really good at photography began with the birth of my son! He changes everyday and I don't want to miss any of it and look forward to looking back at my photos to show others how much he has grown! This also led me to realize that I love People photography the most! I think one person has so much to offer, so many different feelings and emotions show through each photo.

Here are a few different web pages I have created to try to get my Photography off to a good start and share my work! Feel free to add or follow me on any of these!

OCD could it be????

What is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, OCD, is an anxiety disorder and is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors such as handwashing, counting, checking, or cleaning are often performed with the hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. Performing these so-called "rituals," however, provides only temporary relief, and not performing them markedly increases anxiety.

Signs & Symptoms
People with OCD may be plagued by persistent, unwelcome thoughts or images, or by the urgent need to engage in certain rituals. They may be obsessed with germs or dirt, and wash their hands over and over. They may be filled with doubt and feel the need to check things repeatedly

Yes I believe it is OCD
I am CONSTANTLY turning off the lights around the house. I think this one comes from DAD always saying "turn the light off" growing up. The 2nd one is I am ALWAYS LOCKING DOORS, car doors, house doors, etc. This one comes from my MOM! Growing up, she was always asking, "Did you lock the door?". If there is a door, it is LOCKED! This could be a GOOD thing! I am always cleaning something and I believe everything has its place, some things I just haven't found their place yet! Due to CLUTTER!!! aka TOO MUCH JUNK!

have a great night, gotta go clean~ HA HA
